A lovely room - more like a small apartment - in a perfect location in a quiet Exmoor village. We had a warm and friendly welcome from Mop, a very comfy bed, and a spotlessly clean room and bathroom, along with an excellent cooked breakfast!

The annex is adorned with flowers in the summer and has its own private entrance. There is a cosy bedroom/sitting room with en-suite shower in the heart of Exmoor. Sky tv and Wi-Fi. The annex has a bedroom with king size bed, sky tv, sofa, hanging unit, dining table and chairs. The kitchenette the has a sink, washing machine, microwave, air fryer, toaster, kettle, fridge and all crockery and cutlery. Ideal for a longer stay as well as overnight. Included is tea, coffee, milk, cereals, toast, fruit and yogurt for your breakfast. One small dog is welcome. Large dogs or more than one not accepted. Private parking available on the driveway. The room has pictures of wildlife that the owner has taken and there is a pleasant outlook over the hills of Exmoor.
Withypool is one of the prettiest villages in Exmoor and is in the Golden Triangle. I just love the peace a tranquility of the area with all the wildlife including the wonderful Exmoor ponies that surrounds the village. The river Barle that flows through the village boasts one of the best walks on Exmoor to Tarr Steps and Landacre bridge and is a lovely spot to sit on the riverbank. There is no noise pollution here or light pollution and the sky at night is one of the best in Europe being one of the first international Dark Sky Reserve. Come rain or shine there is no place I rather be. I have good knowledge of the area and can supply maps either for walking or a drive to see some spectactular sights.
Withypool is in the heart of Exmoor National Park with beautiful scenery of the moor and the river Barle. Exmoor ponies, red deer and an abundance of wildlife in the surrounding area. It’s on the Two Moors Way The Two Moors Way walking route goes through the village so ideal for those who want a stopover. There is a pub, tea room and village shop within a few minutes walk. Walking is straight from the property either across the moor or along the river and there are also many walking routes all across Exmoor. It’s a good base for exploring the area and in easy reach of the Spectacular north coast with boasts the highest cliffs in England. The beaches of Ilfracombe or Coombe Martin are within an hours drive. The local shopping place is Dulverton nearby with shops tea rooms while the superstores are in Barnstable. There is an award winning market in local South Molton every Thursday and Saturday. The medieval village of Dunster is close by with The Castle and pictures high street. Lots to do and see, Great tea rooms and pubs to savour the best of Exmoor, pretty villages to visit, great coastal walks and scenery and of course Lorna Doone valley to explore.
