Neighbourhood information
Moles Meadow is located on the outskirts of the pretty village of Middleton, and sits on the doorstep of RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve. Minsmere is a fantastic, family-friendly nature reserve where you can discover some of the UK's rarest wildlife on an idyllic walk or head to the coastal lagoons to spot an impressive variety of birds. There is even the opportunity to spot an otter on the reedbeds if you're lucky. No doubt you'll get peckish whilst busy exploring, so make sure you head on over to the Minsmere Cafe and grab yourself a tasty bite to eat.
Middleton is within easy reach of the beautiful Suffolk coast. Keen walkers might enjoy heading to the coast on foot, strolling through chocolate box villages and making a pit-stop of two at the many pubs and cafes. It is possible to walk through Westleton on your way to Dunwich. If you do head to Westleton, be sure to pay a visit to The White Horse Inn or the Westleton Crown (or both). They both serve excellent food alongside a number of local ales. If however you find yourself with a car full of buckets, spades and beach towels, 20 minutes in either direction will take you to the popular seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold.
The pretty coastal town of Aldeburgh lies at the mouth of the River Alde and enjoys breath-taking views both seawards and following the river inland. Possibly best known for having been the home of composer Benjamin Britten, it is the location of the internationally renowned Aldeburgh Festival. Aldeburgh remains an artistic and literary centre as well as a popular destination for holiday makers and sailors. Aldeburgh has a bustling High Street with a variety of independent shops, galleries, cafe's, delis and restaurants. We recommend Regatta, Aldeburgh Market and Sur-Mer at The Suffolk to name a few, all serving delicious locally caught seafood. If you prefer a BBQ at home, visit Salter & King Craft Butchers who sells a carefully curated selection of meat from their cohort of Suffolk...
