Monks Cleeve Bungalow, Exford (Somerset) is a one-bedroom bungalow offering cosy, open-plan accommodation, just a short walk from the village amenities and the village green. This pet-friendly property sleeps up to 2 guests, plus cot available on request. The owners live in the detached guest house next door, and there is a stable yard also on the premises. Sleeps up to 2 guests King-size bed can be made up as twin on request (please advise when booking) Cot and/or high chair available on request Open-plan kitchen-living-dining area with electric 'wood burner' Separate bathroom with shower over the bath Off-road parking Up to two well-behaved dogs welcome for supplement of 25 GBP 2 stables available on site for 25 GBP per stable per night Bed linen and towels provided Wifi, heating and electricity included Arrive from 4 pm Depart by 10 am A pedestrian gate leads from the parking area into the private, enclosed garden with outside table and chairs for two. Patio doors open into to the living area, which has a well equipped open plan kitchen and dining area. Off the living room is bedroom with king-size bed (or twin) and the separate bathroom comprises a bath and shower over, toilet and hand basin. Well behaved dogs welcome (maximum of 2) for 25 GBP. There is a paddock where you may exercise your dogs if you wish, or many paths from the village to explore the wonderful Exmoor countryside. Secure bicycle storage available.

Neighbourhood information

Exford has two pubs that both serve lunch and evening meals, as well as a tea shop and a village shop that stocks essentials, and contains a Post Office counter where you can get cash too. The village green is a dog-free public space in the centre of the village. Exford is situated pretty much in the centre of Exmoor National Park, offering great access to all that Exmoor has to offer. It is a small rural village based around a traditional village green. Exford and the surrounding area is famous for its beautiful and unspoiled countryside making it ideal for hiking, biking, riding and fishing. Just 10 minutes from Exford is Alderman's Barrow, just one example of the opportunity explore an incredible Bronze age Landscape, with it’s mysterious stone settings, barrow and hut circle. A footpath runs from Alderman's Barrow to Larkbarrow which is the ruins of an isolated farm that was used for firing practice during World War II. This area is described by Exmoor National Park as being surrounded by miles of open, rolling grass moorland, and one of the best places to experience remoteness and tranquillity on Exmoor.
