Beautifully appointed cottage. Very secluded, quiet and very peaceful. Dark skies and rural setting but with all mod cons. Despite its quiet location it is only 15 mins from Ludlow and 10 mins from gorgeous pub!

The Hen Den is the perfect escape from the mania of city life. Beautifully remote, spotlessly clean and nestled in a delightfully rural spot with views to die for. The super-comfy beds and a very well equipped kitchen made this one of the best...

Property Information The Hen Den was brand new for 2022 and created to maximise your relaxation and stay in this unique spot. It is adjoined to our home which sits high up on the side of the Corvedale Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty outside of Ludlow. Please note this property is reached over a mile-long unmade track. Not suitable for low-slung sporty cars. We do not accept contractors, children under the age of 14 or any pets (we reserve the right to cancel if you book). The accommodation is totally self-contained with your own parking, garden and entrance. If we are not on hand for a personal welcome then it has a key safe for entry. If you need anything during your stay then we are usually on hand or contactable. It has a private entrance, boot room/utility area, kitchen/dining room, shower room, lounge / additional kingsize bed, upstairs double bedroom and a private patio/garden complete with garden seating and BBQ. Sleeps max of four people with 2 guests being ideal. There is parking on our drive and secure storage for bikes etc. We think it is a special place and we hope you will think so too. Explore miles of the beautiful Shropshire and Herefordshire counties with everything they have to offer or venture over the border into Wales. Ludlow sits on the edge of the Shropshire Hills and the town has an abundance of historical architecture with around 500 listed buildings, lots of independent shops and great places to eat. Our property is our home and a working small holding so please expect usual noise levels. Short stays all year round welcome - minimum stay is 2 nights starting on any day. Longer stays of 28 days max considered. There are several steps up to the property from the parking area.
We relocated from Wiltshire to Shropshire in March 2021, having tried for many years to find the right small holding. The Hen & Ferret eventually showed on our search and we secured this very special and unique place to live. We are currently making it our own, working on the house, land, and garden. Our first project was our self-contained annexe called The Hen Den which we are very proud of and it gives us a chance to share this place with like-minded people who love the countryside but still want that bit of luxury when taking a break. We are an ex-IT and finance professional and enjoy the experience of hosting and meeting new people, helping to ensure they have the perfect stay.
We are in an area of outstanding natural beauty known as the Corvedale valley in the Shropshire Hills 15 minutes or 7 miles from the beautiful medieval market town of Ludlow. We have nine acres of land, an 80 tree cider apple orchard and are then surrounded on two sides by mixed woodland. Nature abounds here so expect sights and sounds! The views, sunsets, sunrises and night skies are incredible. No light pollution means great opportunities for star gazing. Fantastic opportunities for chilling, reading, and taking everything in or getting out into the countryside for long walks. Our comprehensive Welcome Pack will show you all the local attractions (many), gardens, walks, and food recommendations. You are in an ideal location to explore Shropshire, Herefordshire, and Wales.
