Swan View and Cygnet View Lodges are self catering lodges in Tigharry, North Uist in the Western Isles (also known as the Outer Hebrides). Tigharry is a rural village and the lodges is situated on a hill overlooking Loch Eval towards Cleatrabhal Hills. The lodges each sleep a maximum of 2 people with a comfortable double bed. There is a seating area, breakfast bar and balcony or decking overlooking the loch, which is inhabited throughout the year by swans and other wildlife. With many secluded beaches within walking distance and boasting Balranald RSPB bird reserve on its doorstep the lodges make for a peaceful retreat. The nearest shop is 3 miles away and the only pub in North Uist which serves meals, is 5 miles. There are cafes and restaurants across the island with many selling local produce on their menus. The nearest beach (Hosta) is 20 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by car.
One of the most popular things to do on North Uist is to explore the island's beautiful beaches. The island is home to a number of stunning sandy beaches, including Traigh Mhor, Traigh Eais, and Traigh Losgaintir. These beaches are popular with tourists and locals alike, and are great for swimming, sunbathing, and beachcombing. Another popular activity on North Uist is birdwatching. The island is home to a wide variety of bird species, including many rare and endangered species. Some of the most popular birds to look out for include the corncrake, the golden plover, and the red-throated diver. The island is also home to a number of seabirds, including puffins, guillemots, and gannets. RSPB Balranald is just a short distance away. There are also a number of outdoor activities to enjoy on North Uist, including fishing, golfing, and horse riding. The island is home to a number of lochs and rivers, which are stocked with a variety of fish species.
