Welcome to the cosy shepherds hut “OOR HOOSE” Our shepherd’s hut is conveniently located at the entrance of the beautiful town of Blairgowrie and Rattray. It’s only a 5-minute walk to the town center with it’s nice little local shops. Though located at one of the main entrance roads to the town center it gives you a tranquil escape from your daily hustle and bustle because it’s nicely situated in the beautiful flower garden from “Isla Rose Cottage” From the parking behind it you enter via the garden gate and nice garden in which “OOR HOOSE” has it’s own space with sitting area, beach chairs, barbeque and in the evening beautiful lighted by a whole bunch of fairy lights. The old walls around it give you a good privacy feeling while the whole garden stays accessible for the guests. Inside you find a cozy living space with easy fauteuils and a very comfortable bed with loads of storage space underneath for your suitcases and travel items. TV and good (free) WIFI are arranged so that you don’t need to miss anything from the modern times. You will find also a practical corner where you find toaster, kettle, coffeemaker, fridge and microwave. Don’t worry about dishes because they will be done by your hosts Filip and Gavin. Good insulation, both temperature and sound, combined with a good electric heating gives you a safe and cozy surrounding. You will also like the nicely decorated ensuite shower room with shower tray, basin with its separate water boiler, and toilet. ATTENTION: Due to the character of this “tiny home” we want guests to know that the bed is “raised” a bit higher (storage underneath and visible on the photos) and that the bed has a very comfortable mattress with luxury bedlinen but it’s a “standard double” (not king-size) so maybe bit less suitable for taller guests. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you need more information.
Hello, we are Gavin and Filip and together with our 2 pooches Guinness and Dolly we are happy to be your hosts at “Isla Rose Cottage”. We both lived in many places in Belgium, France, England and Scotland but we have now found our “forever” home in the beautiful Isla Rose Cottage from 1867, in lively Blairgowrie. The cottage, we lovingly restored ourselves, is presented in a mix with love for the history of it, and an open mind for the modern comfort. We open our doors and welcome you to a beautiful, cosy and very homely room. We only offer one ensuite, but we can assure you that we give our guests all the attention they need without invading their privacy, because we know that it’s important to have that warm homely feeling. Everything has been renovated with consideration to the past of the cottage but also with attention to the present. It is well insulated, and electricity is provided by solar panels with heating from an air source heath pump. And of course… we have a car charger for those guests who drive an EV- vehicle (at a super low rate). We are real dog lovers, but you have to ask Guinness and Dolly permission to bring your well-behaved doggie along
Perthshire is the centre of Scotland and is nicknamed “the big county”. But Perthshire is not only big in size but also in history, attractions, lochs, glens and mountains. There’s something to explore for everyone. We will give you here some ideas that can help you making your mind up for what to do during your holiday. Whether it is for a relaxed holiday with some visits at historic places like…. Scone Palace or Glamis Castle, The Hermitage and Faskally woods, Pitlochry dam and the Highland folk museum, Historical villages like Dunkeld, Pitlochry, Braemar and so many more. And of course don’t forget the many excellent distilleries. It’s also the place where you can go and get active…. Lots of scenic routes for discovering on motorbike, bicycle, car or just on foot on beautiful hiking trails, great golf courses, fantastic fishing places, and in the winter, you’re invited to our nearby ski slopes. In and around Blairgowrie you find also the nice shopping places with the traditional local shops. The many pubs, tearooms and restaurants invite you from simple fish and chips to fancy dinners in historical places. There’s also something for all pets to explore (as well as for their owners too)
