Neighbourhood information
Chapel Cleeve is very close to the sea and Blue Anchor promenade with two cafes and a pub.
The latest café on the sea front opened a couple of years ago and is owned by the adjacent caravan park where light snacks and drinks are served. There are items for sale and newspapers can be ordered for collection.
A little further along is the Driftwood café which has been established for many years and has a good reputation for its meals at reasonable costs. During holiday season there is normally an Ice cream van in evidence and all along the 3/4 mile promenade is free ample parking.
Further along towards Minehead is Dunster beach where again there is ample (meter) parking and inland Dunster itself with the famous Yarn market and National Trust castle.
High above Minehead is North Hill with numerous walks and views, an Explorer map of the area is provided.
Minehead is the nearest large town with all the amenities you would expect with several named retail outlets and is also home to the West Somerset Railway.
