Walton is a small village very close to Street known for its association with the 200 year old Clarks footwear brand where the headquarters are based. The Outlet village is well worth a visit with excellent shops and restaurants with the added benefit of exploring the local area's beauty and attractions. On the kitchen notice board there is a booklet with more details and maps about local pubs and facilities in Walton and nearby including places worth visiting like the Newt in Castle Cary, bird watching at the Somerset Levels, and countless places to escape to take in the wildlife, the surrounding hills and enjoy the stars at night. Other attractions to explore: Burnham-on-Sea's sandy and spectacular beaches, or venture farther afield to Lyme Regis and West Bay. Glastonbury Tor, Cheddar Gorge, Wells Cathedral and the numerous National Trust buildings cater to a wide range of interests. There is a great local pub in the village, The Royal Oak within a 10 minute walking distance. The Sunday roasts are highly recommended! I hope you have a really enjoyable stay! Lisa
