My second stay here, and it was absolutely fantastic again. Spotlessly clean, warm, excellently equipped and quiet. Perfect! There was a hell of a squall on the first night, but I was cosy in my Pod while everything else sounded like it was...

Loved the whole ethos of Radio Skye as a community venture. The pod was very well equipped for self catering, immaculately clean, comfortable, and a short stroll into the centre of town. There were practical facilities, thoughtful of space, such...

Our Pods The pods were born in September 2023 when they arrived on site. It has been a long-time dream to be financially sustainable and finally the pod accommodation is allowing us to do just that. The income from the pods helps to support three local jobs, two full time and one part-time, along with going towards our mast space rent and other core costs, Your stay here means a huge amount to us, especially Suzy, Adam and Robert, as we can continue to do the jobs we love. So now you know a bit more about us, here are a few things to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Pod Extras We have an iron and ironing board available; please ask in the office at the station. We also have a small first aid kit and midge repellent (often required in the summer). Office hours are 9.30am - 3.00pm There is a designated barbecue area with bbq, grill and seating etc on the patio which you should feel free to use. Please make sure it is wiped down once it has cooled and remove any rubbish, our bins are located at the studio side of the shed. You are welcome to use the patio but it is located next to studio 2 so please keep noise down until after 5pm. Pets We do allow pets, but it does take a little extra preparation for the following guests, so If you intend travelling and staying with your pet at Radio Skye Pods: Òran or Ceòl, we would ask that you make a Ten Pounds donation to the radio station. Just ask Suzy, our station manager how.
Suzy is the Station Manager at Radio Skye joining in the radio station in June 2019. She’s passionate about radio and its role in the community of Skye and Lochalsh. Radio Skye Pods have been a dream of the station for some time now and with Suzy taking care of all the station presenters and her own family, she is well qualified to manage the two pods. When she’s not scheduling, fundraising and all the other bits and bobs that keep the station running smoothly, you’ll find her on air presenting on the Breakfast show on Mondays Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays plus tune in at 6pm for Saturday Night with Suzy with guests, great tunes and the Skye Camanachd Lotto results.
Portree (Scottish Gaelic: Port Rìgh) is the largest town on, and capital of, the Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. Portree has a harbour, fringed by cliffs, with a pier designed by Thomas Telford. Attractions in the town include the former Aros Centre, now the Isle of Skye Candle Co. Visitor Centre, which celebrates the island's Gaelic heritage. Further arts provision is made through arts organisation ATLAS Arts, a Creative Scotland regularly-funded organisation. The town also serves as a centre for tourists exploring the island. Around 939 people (37.72% of the population) can speak Scottish Gaelic. Portree is connected to the Skye Bridge by the A87 road, which then leads northwards to Uig. The A855 road also leads north out of the town, passing through villages such as Achachork, Staffin and passes the rocky landscape of the Storr before reaching the landslip of the Quiraing.
