Rosebank was built in 1920, it was one of the first properties built in Spean Bridge village. She is full of character, a wealth of local history and is a typical Scottish Highland Victorian Villa. The garden is a wonderful colour feature to enjoy, its full of apple, pear, cherry and plum trees. In summer feel free to pick the red currents ,raspberries, strawberries and in the early autumn brambles. The flower beds are vibrant and ever changing and a joy to sit in the garden, look at the stunning views of The Grey Corries, Annoch-Mhor and the North-face of Ben Nevis. Every day the view is a wonderful different photo opportunity. Relax, enjoy your breakfast in the comfort of your own room, and take in the highland mountain view. A TV, hairdryer ,fridge, tea and coffee facilities and mineral water are included in each individually designed room. Toiletries from the local Highland village shop are provided in each private bathroom. Its spaciousness will make your stay feel safe and all rooms are socially distant from each other.
My husband Ali and I just moved from Fort William in December 2020, to Spean Bridge. We are excited about the new venture and look forward to sharing our home with our Guests. We enjoy meeting people and have a wealth of local knowledge and are more than happy to share our experiences, adventures and tips of where to go. I love Wild Water Swimming and enjoy swimming in Lochaber's Lochs. Both my husband are keen cyclists and love hill running.
Spean Bridge Rail Station is 5 minutes’ walk from Rosebank, and restaurants and pubs are in the immediate area. Free parking is available on site. The village takes its name from the Highbridge over the River Spean on General Wade's military road between Fort William and Fort Augustus, and not from Telford's bridge of 1819 which carries the A82 over the river at the heart of the village. The Highbridge Skirmish on 16 August 1745 was the first engagement of the Jacobite Rising of 1745. Guests can take the Highbridge 4 mile circular walk from the house. Take in nature through the forest and watch out for red squirrels. woodpeckers and walk back in time with the Jacobites. The Commando Memorial is on route dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces raised during Second World War. Take in the views of the majestic Grey Corries as you walk back down into the village. There are plenty of cycle trails and is only 6 miles from Nevis Range. The local golf course is half a mile walking distance from the house. Rosebank is only 5 min walk from the railway station local restaurants and pubs in the immediate area. Cairngorms/Loch ness is only 30 mins drive away.
