The Royal Golf Hotel is located overlooking the first tee of the Royal Dornoch Golf Club. Many rooms have stunning views of the course and the sea. The Royal serves a full Scottish breakfast and the Conservatory Restaurant, which benefits from panoramic views, offers a wide range of dishes made from fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. The hotels Morris Bar stocks wines from around the world and over 35 malt whiskies. The Royal Dornoch Golf Club is regularly rated one of the top 20 courses in the world and there are 20 golf courses within an hour’s drive of the hotel. Dornoch Cathedral dates back to the 13th century but nowadays the area is better known for its hiking and fishing. The town is just over an hour’s drive from Inverness Airport and 20 minutes’ drive from Tain Railway Station.
