Sealladh an Loch is a purpose-built holiday home on the south shore of Loch Ness, providing the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday with family & friends.
It is located in the heart of a the Scottish Highlands, right next to door to the historic & infamous Boleskine House. Surrounded by fields, forests & mountains and overlooking the iconic Loch Ness, it offers pure peace & tranquility.
The house is built into the side of the mountain, with a huge glazed frontage looking onto Loch Ness & its back-drop of mountains & forests. It feels wonderfully rural, yet the village of Foyers is within easy reach, with a village shop, post office & cafe, a pub and the famous 'Falls of Foyers.'
The focus of the house is on light & space, with several communal spaces - the snooker hall with a full-sized snooker table, a galleried landing, a sun room, a snug and a very well-equipped kitchen and dining area.
The decor is simple, with carefully selected accessories to add touches of luxury and to give a Scottish feel - Egyptian cotton bedding, fluffy towels, ‘Harris Tweed’ curtains & throws, rugs & cushions from ‘Skyeskyns,’ whisky-barrel furniture from ‘Darach,’ and complimentary hand-soap from ‘Highland Soaps.’ Our artwork is Scottish – many pieces are by local artists.
There is bedroom accommodation for up to 12 adults in 3 double and 3 twin bedrooms.
The 3 double bedrooms are all en-suite. The 2 upstairs twin rooms are served by a large family bathroom. The third twin room is en-suite and located on the ground floor, specifically designed for elderly or less able guests.
As well as the decking and balcony to the front, guests can enjoy the gardens & patio. The gardens are steeply sloped and maintained in a natural style. To the rear, the grass & wild flowers are left to grow naturally – there is a path leading up to a viewing point where guests can enjoy a panoramic view of the Loch & mountains.
A large patio provides a flat area,
We are the Reed and Sweetland family. I was born in Peterhead & my brother in Aberdeen while Dad worked as a sonar engineer on the fishing fleets around the coast of Scotland. We moved to England when we were small, but continued to spend much of our childhood in Aberdeen with our grandparents. Eventually, we found ourselves at risk of losing touch with our beloved Scottish heritage. So, we decided to re-establish our roots by creating a property that we could use as a family holiday home and run as a holiday rental.
We are a small but brilliant team, priding ourselves on providing exceptional customer service at every step of our guests' experience - from point of enquiry, queries, bookings, arrival and of course during stay & departure.
We provide fresh flowers & a welcome pack – guests can enjoy a hot drink & homemade cake as soon as they arrive. At Christmas and New Year, we provide a ‘hamper’ of Scottish seasonal goodies.
Sealladh an Loch is wonderfully rural, yet within easy reach of the village of Foyers (5 minute drive). Both the city of Inverness & the town of Fort Augustus are a 30 minute drive away.
For guests who like to walk, bird-watch or enjoy the wildlife, footpaths & viewing points can be accessed direct from the house. The house is on the route of the South Loch Ness Trail, and the ‘Falls of Foyers’ are only 1.5 miles away. Guests can walk through the forest to see the dramatic gorge & waterfall, before continuing down to the shores of Loch Ness. There are several marked walks around the house and the village. We have provided some maps in the house, but you can also buy a ‘Paths Around Foyers’ map at Foyers Stores.
There are plenty of tourist attractions and activities in the area
