Our newly opened annexe. Beautiful self contained annexe, newly refurbished to a high standard. One bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and courtyard garden with bbq. Situated in the tranquil and picturesque countryside village of Wedmore. Only a few minute’s walk to the lovely shops, deli, tea room and country pubs that can be found in the heart of the village. Within easy distance of the stunning Somerset levels where you can enjoy plenty of walking, cycling, bird watching and amazing views.
Hello. I’m Karen. I joined air bnb as a traveller in 2016, but have just opened up our newly refurbished annexe as a host (July 2021). We have just had our very first guests and are now excited to welcome more. We moved to Somerset 20 years ago and have loved it ever since. As well as enjoying our beautiful village itself and surrounding areas, we love being so close to Bristol and Bath. I work as a counsellor and therapeutic coach, formerly at Wells Cathedral school and St Dunstans in Glastonbury, but now just in my private practice. We live adjacent to the annexe and whilst we will leave you alone during your stay, we do like to say Hello and are also happy to help you should you need any guidance or information. When not working my hobbies include cycling, walking, running, reading, playing the piano, cooking and socialising with friends. I recently walked The Camino de Santiago - a 500 mile pilgrimage walk from St Jean Pied de Port in France to Santiago de Compestello in Northern Spain. I have two grown up children and two lovely cats. We welcome you to stay in our beautiful village.
The annexe is situated on the edge of the Somerset Levels, an area known for it's natural, outstanding beauty. Between October and March the starling murmurations are a must see. Excellent area for walking and cycling. An 18 hole golf course is a five minute drive away with lovely views of the Mendips. If you enjoy getting closer to the wildlife the Westhay Nature Reserve is close by. The nearest railway station is situated in Highbridge (a 15 minute drive away) or Weston super Mare (25 minute drive). Bristol airport is approximately 40 minutes by car. Public transport is limited so to make the most of your stay in this area, your own transport will enable you to visit the many beautiful surrounding areas.
