Company information

We have both lived in Dorset all our lives and our favourite places to live have always been by the coast. We did live in Shaftesbury for a while and when our daughters left home we used their rooms for guests, giving us an insight into bed and breakfast on a smaller scale, we enjoyed it very much and since then have been working towards owning and running a guest house by the coast.

Property information

South Rising Poole has been a guest house since 1979, since purchasing it at the end of 2015 we have created ensuite shower rooms to all 6 bedrooms and updated the dining room. We back onto Poole park which is a great area with boating lake, tennis, crazy golf, 2 swing parks, soft play and 2 cafes, if you walk through it you are in the town in 10 minutes or down on the quay with its restaurants and bars in 30 minutes. We do have parking for 6 cars within the white line bays but if you drive a bigger vehicle it is tight but possible to get all vehicles on, also at the weekend you can park over the road, at anytime in the side streets for 2 hours and after 6pm free until 10am, a five minute walk away is the civic centre car park.

Neighbourhood information

The Poole area has a great deal to offer the tourist, immediately behind the guest house is the wonderful Poole Park with its boating lake, restaurant, swing parks, small train rides,the Arc cafe and play centre and the beautiful grounds to walk in and admire the surroundings. A ten minute walk and you are in the town centre with the shops, lighthouse theatre, restaurants, bus station and train station. The Quay and harbour are a 20 minute walk where you will find ferries to Brownsea Island, Wareham river and Swanage, also many bars, amusements and museum.
