This beautifully appointed two bedroom apartment is the perfect base from which to explore Lerwick and, beyond, the 100 inhabited and uninhabited islands which together make up Shetland. Accommodation consists of one double and one twin bedroom, a light and airy lounge/dining area with a view towards the sea, fully fitted and equipped kitchen and newly refurbished shower room. The apartment has exclusive ground level access across a private patio area. WiFi is available. The apartment is very close to Lerwick Harbour from where various sightseeing boat trips depart and also to the main shopping/dining area of Commercial Street. You will find it an ideal base from which to make the most of all the activities that Shetland’s world renowned festivals of Up Helly Aa, Shetland Folk Festival, Shetland Accordion and Fiddle Festival and Shetland Wool Week have to offer.
We have lived in Lerwick all our lives and look forward to sharing with you all we know and love about these islands. We have been involved in holiday lettings since 2013 with our first apartment in Edinburgh. We purchased another property in Edinburgh in 2015 and we operated both of these properties successfully as holiday lets until 2022 with excellent reviews from holiday makers. We then decided to look homeward to expand our holiday letting business. We purchased this apartment in early 2019 and have been operating it successfully since then. Complementing our holiday letting business, Mandy is a fully qualified Green Badge Tour Guide for Shetland, registered with the Scottish Tourist Guides Association (STGA) and also the Shetland Islands Tourist Guides Association (SITGA). Mandy will be happy to share her knowledge of Shetland with you on driver guided and walking tours around the islands. Please see our website for further details of tours and prices.
The apartment is situated at the quiet South End of Lerwick and just a two minute walk to the main shopping thoroughfare of Commercial Street with its eclectic mix of independent retailers, pubs and restaurants offering quality Shetland food, craft and produce. The local Tourist Office is also located in Commercial Street, at the Market Cross. Lerwick Harbour is close by from where sightseeing and birdwatching boat trips depart as well as the ferry to Bressay. A ten minute walk from the apartment takes you to Mareel, Lerwick's cinema and arts venue with a delightful cafe bar. Next door to Mareel is the Shetland Museum and Archives which is a must see. A short walk to the South of the apartment takes you round the coastal fringes of Lerwick (the Knab and the Sletts) with its spectacular cliff scenery and breathtaking views towards Bressay.
