We have a passion for old buildings and are gradually restoring Tallentire Hall to its former glory. We'd love to share this amazing building with you and provide you with a restful, tranquil base for your adventures in the Northern Lake District, and wonderful beaches of West Cumbria.

Property information

With Gardener’s Cottage and The Hayloft having 4 star gold and Gamekeeper’s Cottage having 5 star Gold ratings from Visit England, our luxury holiday cottages have everything you could need for a relaxing stay. On the fringes of the Lake District National Park, 14 miles from Keswick, 5 miles from the West Cumbrian beaches, and just 3 miles from the market town of Cockermouth, we are perfectly located for West Cumbria's beaches and the northern fells of the Lake District. Each cottage has access to 11 acres of grounds, including a terrace with seating and fire pits. We supply Duck Island Toiletries for your use during your stay, and private on site parking. All towels and Egyptian cotton linen are supplied. We look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of paradise. Please be aware the bathroom In Gardener's Cottage is downstairs while the bedroom is upstairs. The stairs have a kite turn at the bottom and are steep in keeping with the age of the property (1590)

Neighbourhood information

Tallentire is a small village 3 miles north of Cockermouth. There is 1 pub in the village. The area is rural and quiet and has a number of gentle walks locally, with more challenging walks on the Lake District Fells close by. Head 5 miles north and you reach the beaches of West Cumbria with a safe cycle route along the coast. Less than 2 miles away we have a recreation of a Viking Forge at Moorforge, where re-enactments are a regular occurrence in summer. We are 12 minutes from Bassenthwaite Lake and 14 miles from Keswick.
