If you are looking for a non-hotel/pub Bed & Breakfast then Telford House B & B could be your ideal choice, situated in the delightful old coaching town of Stony Stratford which is known as "the jewel of Milton Keynes". The town contains many individual shops which are ideal for browsing and many public houses offer live music on several evenings per week. Our rooms are all ensuite and are varied to suit all tastes. The rooms have tv beds (push a button on side of the bed and the tv rises up at the foot of the bed). We aim to offer our guests a homely atmosphere where they can relax after the day's exertions, be it work or play. Many of our guests comment that the house has a lovely ambience and that they immediately feel at home. Our decor is a mixture of old and new. We regularly renovate our rooms with modern decor, whilst retaining some of the Victorian features as befits the age of the property. Telford House is close to many restaurants and take-aways, and if you prefer to eat in you are welcome to bring food to your room. Trays, plates, cutlery etc are always available in the hall and all rooms are equipped with a table and chair(s).
I bought Telford House in 1983, opened my door to guests 36 years ago and have enjoyed every minute! I love welcoming guests to my home and sharing conversations with them. I have a passion for local history and am always pleased to discuss local places of historical interest should guests enquire. Just ask me! One of my most enjoyable tasks in running the B & B is cooking a good hearty English breakfast so that my guests can start the day well nourished. ( Alternative choices are always available for lighter eaters, vegetarians and vegans etc.) My partner and I are keen ballroom dancers and I am always happy to take a turn around the Dining Room should a guest wish to join me! We also enjoy going to the cinema and can chat about films we've enjoyed for hours - sorry no sci-fi, horror, aliens etc!
