Set in the quiet, green surrounds of Drumbeg, in a quiet mews on the threshold of Belfast, this two-bedroom house can sleep four, and is tranquil yet well-located for accessing all what Belfast and Northern Ireland has to offer. Fringed by fields and parklands, but only a 15 minute drive into the centre of Belfast, the location is perfect.
This clean, modern space, is fully refitted by an architect (me) who is always itching to make the interiors as unique and stylish, but comfortable and practical, as possible. The house is made for healthy and sustainable living, with its own electric car charger and whole-house water filter.
As a modern-build house, with an architect-designed interior, the space offers all the advantages and comfort of efficient mod cons and heating, but with character and unique style. This is a warm and inviting space with wooden shelves and furniture, plenty of plants and books, but also clean lines and unburdened spaces.
The downstairs is accessed through a hall to an open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area, while upstairs there are two bedrooms and two good-sized bathrooms. To the rear is a deck and a lawned garden, with barbecue.
At the front of the house is a off-street dedicated parking space for one car. Note that we have a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ between the neighbours on parking, where we all have allocated parking spaces - they just are not marked. Please do park in ‘our’ space. This space is also close to our electric car charger. There is a fee to use the charger, just let us know if you will need it during your stay and we will send the details - it is an easy system.
Hi,
I hope you enjoy my home, I am a global traveling architect so the Architect's Mews is also my base when I visit. I like to keep a comfortable modern and stylish, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
You will be by the Lagan Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the River Lagan serving as the link to a series of award-winning parks, woodlands, meadows, National Trust sites, walks, cycle paths and the historic Lagan Valley tow path that joins Lisburn and Belfast. We are also by the oldest pub in Belfast, established in 1620, an atmospheric place for a pint or a meal.
The oldest pub in Belfast is 2 mins drive/15 mins walk down the road, the park and tow path is 2 mins down the same road. Shopping is a 10 minute drive to the Sprucefield Centre, with two large supermarkets, pet store, chemist, fast-food, electronics etc. Sprucefield also has a bus stop for one of the bus services to Dublin and Dublin airport.
The closest train station is Dunmurry, a 6 min drive from the house. Bus services are irregular. We strongly recommend you have a car during your stay.
We also thoroughly recommend hiring a bicycle. At the end of our road is an entrance onto the Lagan Valley Towpath, where you can cycle off-road the entire way to Belfast or Lisburn, alongside the lovely Lagan river and through the many green parks. Stop off halfway at the lovely Lockkeeper’s Inn, for a coffee and cake by the river. It usually takes us about an hour to cycle into Belfast and it is always wonderful. You can also cycle (entirely off-road) to Sprucefield for your shopping, or visit Lisburn.
