The Barn at Titley is a stunning, contemporary barn conversion with lovely views, located in a pretty village with a nature reserve, glacial lakes and popular gastro-pub, The Stagg. It is graded 5 star according to VisitEngland standards. The first floor open-plan living area takes advantage of the oak beams which soar into the vaulted ceiling. Furnishings have been chosen with natural materials to reflect the barn's heritage. The bespoke,well-eqipped kitchen is in sycamore. Dining table and chairs for 6. Welcome tray on arrival. The gallery with single bed (teenagers/adults only) provides flexibility with sleeping arrangements. With sofa and desk it is perfect for teenagers to "chill out". Downstairs are two four-poster bedrooms, traditional and contemporary: a cosy king-size with en-suite (bath with shower over), a double with en-suite wet-room (power shower and sink). French windows open out onto the courtyard so you can pop out for coffee and breakfast. Separate cloakroom. (N.B. Room for travel cot in the double bedroom. Space around part of the king bed is a little tight so may not suit those with impaired mobility). Private garden looking out onto hills and forests and a rear sunny courtyard shared with other barns. Parking for 3 cars max. only. STRICTLY - no tradespeople or large domestic vehicles e.g. campervans/trade vehicles please as this is a residential estate. Pets are not permitted.
Welcome to The Barn at Titley, our Herefordshire holiday home! Terry is a retired architect and Christine worked with deprived children. We live near Stratford- on -Avon and love coming over to the barn for holidays. As the barn is our own holiday home it is equipped and furnished to a high standard and we hope our guests will appreciate all the little extras provided to make it feel a home from home. We are passionate about hospitality and great customer service and enjoy welcoming and having happy guests!
The Barn makes an ideal base for exploring Hay-on-Wye, Hereford and Ludlow, described by poet John Betjeman as the loveliest town in England. Hay is a Mecca for book-lovers. The Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are close at hand. Titley is on the popular Mortimer trail for walkers with Offa's Dyke accessible at Kington. In addition to walking, canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding is available on the River Wye. For golfers and visitors, a visit to the Kington golf course, the highest course in England ( with land owned by the National Trust) is a must for spectacular views over the Wye and Welsh valleys. National Trust properties and gardens are plentiful in the area. For foodies, there are plenty of good pubs and restaurants in the area. The Stagg in the village is very popular with our guests. There is a local spa, Cloud 9 at the Burton Hotel, Kington (twenty pounds per day). It has a lovely pool steam room, sauna and gym. Presteigne is a characterful small town just over the Welsh border 3 miles away and has a local arts festival and a popular museum The Judge's Lodging.
