Company information

A big warm welcome to Hutton le Hole from ourselves - Caroline and Gareth. Caroline is a Yorkshire lass born and bred whilst Gareth, originally from Suffolk, now calls Yorkshire home. We’ve owned The Barn for almost a decade and use our 30 years hospitality experience to ensure the perfect stay. We're very much hands on and always on hand to help you plan your days out. We're actively involved in day-to-day operations from cleaning rooms and cooking breakfasts to baking cakes for our in-house tearoom. We enjoy walking our dogs Kali, and Skye, in the local area or heading to the spectacular Yorkshire coast for a beach walk. We offer a relaxing stay in the heart of the North York Moors which is beautiful in any season. With our picturesque village location The Barn is the perfect place for walkers, cyclists and explorers. We're a ten-minute walk from North Yorkshire’s stunning heather moorland and less than a ten-minute drive from the spectacular Blakey Ridge on Wainwrights Coast to Coast.

Property information

Located in the picturesque village of Hutton Le Hole, in the heart of the spectacular North York Moors National Park, The Barn has been our home since January 2016. We are a family run, traditional Yorkshire bed and breakfast, with six welcoming en-suite rooms, a bright and airy guest lounge, delicious breakfasts, in-house licensed tearoom and private parking. Our simply furnished, quiet rooms include a selection of teas including Yorkshire Tea, coffee machine, free Wi-Fi, hairdryer, digital flat screen TV and central heating. Our locally produced breakfast is freshly cooked by Gareth, and served by Caroline, and breakfast tables overlook the village green and meandering beck. When we’re not looking after you - cooking and serving breakfast, housekeeping or sharing our local knowledge so you get the most out of your stay, you may bump into us on a dog walk around the village or catch us heading to the fabulous Yorkshire Coast for an ice cream or fish and chips. We’re next door to the much-loved Ryedale Folk Museum and only a short walk from The Crown Inn if you fancy a local ale. If you're exploring, walking, cycling, running, dark skies gazing or simply wanting to escape and recharge your batteries, we offer a genuine warm welcome. We're outdoor friendly and therefore offer the perfect stay for walkers, cyclists, big explorers, mini-explorers and well behaved four-legged friends (on request). Several picturesque local walks start on our doorstep from a relaxing stroll around the village to a hike across the moors to the beautifully isolated Ana Cross. Why not head across the moors to the famous Chimney Bank at Rosedale or hike out on Wainwrights Coast to Coast (a 10-minute drive away). We offer the perfect location, and a relaxing stay, to explore the whole of North Yorkshire from the heather filled moors to the breathtaking coast.

Neighbourhood information

As one of the UK's most picturesque villages Hutton le Hole is nestled in the heart of the North York Moors National Park and has remained unchanged for centuries. With its meandering beck, white picket fencing, local inn (serving food) folklore museum, cafes and pretty stone cottages the welcoming village is picture perfect. Hutton le Hole is surrounded by magnificent scenery with an abundance of walking, and cycling, routes going directly from our front door. We’re only a few miles away from Wainwrights famous Coast to Coast if you fancy a walk along a breathtaking trail which includes the iconic Lion Inn. A few miles away is the bustling town of Kirkbymoorside with a weekly market (Wednesday) plus a variety of delis, butchers, bakers, cafes, independent gift shops, a well stocked supermarket and a couple of pubs. We are also ideally located for visiting the market towns of Helmsley, Pickering and Malton.
