Company information

Renovated in 2023, the Bittescombe Inn saw the much-loved local pub, which has served the local community for over a century, restored to its former glory. Originally a farmhouse, dating from the 17th century, the Inn has a food offering based on produce from the Bittescombe Estate and other local suppliers. ​The kitchen is led by Olivier Certain, French, yet really a local Exmoor boy having worked for over 20 years in the South West's top gastro pubs. The Inn has five en-suite, cosy, bedrooms each with their own distinct character. The team has reimagined the "local humble country" pub as an inn of which Upton and Somerset can be proud. Please note, whilst the B&B is open 7 days a week, our kitchen is closed on Sunday evenings. We open at 4pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, with a reduced menu being served 4pm-9pm on these days. The rooms are a reduced price on Sunday and Monday night stays as we offer a continental breakfast only.

Your home away from home Each of the rooms at Bittescombe Inn is unique, inspired by the Inn’s big sister Bittescombe Lodge. Fully refurbished to retain the heritage of the original building equipped with all modern comforts one would expect. Please note, whilst the B&B is open 7 days a week, our kitchen is closed on Sunday evenings. We open at 4pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, with a reduced menu being served 4pm-9pm on these days. The rooms are a reduced price on Sunday and Monday night stays as we offer a continental breakfast only. There is no cooked breakfast available on Monday and Tuesday mornings as are chefs are at rest after a busy week.
