The Bothy, part of our 17th century Welsh farmhouse, offers a perfect base to explore beautiful rural Monmouthshire, the Brecon Beacons National Park and the ancient castles & history of the Welsh Marches. Fully renovated in 2022 it has a spacious bedroom with a king size bed & brand new shower room. Downstairs there’s a large living room with a sofa-bed and a full kitchen. We provide freshly baked bread on arrival & home made marmalade & jam, butter, milk, tea & coffee. The Hall Inn pub is within easy walking distance and there's a log fire for nights in - ideal for a weekend in the country. There's a large, sunny bedroom with a king size bed upstairs and a new shower room. We provide quality cotton bed linen and sumptuous large fluffy bath towels. Downstairs there is a spacious sitting room with a log fire and a full kitchen. There's a new sofa-bed (mattress 52"x70"), TV and we have fast broadband (50-60mbs). We can provide a cot and all baby paraphernalia if needed (high chair, toys etc) A large basket of logs is included. Iron and ironing board provided. Well-behaved dogs are accepted but we would ask if they can be encouraged not to go upstairs and should be kept off the furniture . We have dog bowls and old towels if you need them. Guest access Guest have their own access through a porch to the cottage. Parking is in the yard next to the cottage. We welcome guests to explore our land and woods and also to sit in and enjoy our garden with the fabulous views when the weather is good. We love to give our guests a weekend that leaves them rested and rejuvenated. Other things to note The very popular Hall Inn pub with good traditional food is within walking distance and a number of other good pubs and restaurants are within easy reach in Usk, Raglan and Abergavenny.
Having lived for 14 years in HK we had to adapt fast when taking over the house . We inherited it from my recently departed mother who has welcomed guests since the early 90s . We have thrown ourselves into restoring the house, garden and land and it gives us great pleasure to see people unwind and simply enjoy the magic of the Welsh countryside when staying at Oak Farm!
A stunning location with far reaching views from the driveway, fields and main garden. Walk in our 20 acres of land and hopefully see some wonderful wildlife and wild flowers which we encourage…. Or simply borrow a blanket or chair and relax in our garden
