Ringstead is an unspoilt village just a few miles inland from the North Norfolk Coast. Whether you want an active, adventure packed holiday, or just a peaceful retreat, this is the perfect place to be. Book in for an outstanding fine dining experience at the supremely charming The Gin Trap Inn, a traditional 17th Century coaching inn which stocks more than 100 gins! Roaring log fires make it cosy in winter, and in the summer enjoy the lovely decked garden to the rear.
The village General Store is certainly unique; not only does it stock everything from newspapers to local produce and logs to cleaning products, but it is a labyrinth of rooms for you to explore with an eclectic collection of old and new items for sale. There is also an excellent garden centre, Wards, in the village too.
Peddars Way passes through the village on its way to join the Coastal Path, so there is good walking to be had here and on the Ringstead Downs. The village is on the National Cycle Network and is part of the Norfolk Coast Cycleway. The beach sandy beach, pubs, restaurants and Links Golf Course at Old Hunstanton is just two miles away which is in walking distance or easy cycling distance. For guests with dogs, make sure you visit All Dogs Meadow,a 3.5 acre secure meadow for dogs to run and play safely.
The nearby bustling seaside town of Hunstanton offers delicious fish and chips, cafes, ice cream parlours, amusements arcades, bowling alley, crazy golf, watersports centre, Sea Life Centre and traditional fun fair. From the cottage you can reach the beaches at Old Hunstanton, Holme-next-the-Sea, Brancaster and Titchwell and beyond, plus squeeze in a visit to trendy Burnham Market where you can shop until you drop for local produce and browse the fabulous boutiques and independent shops.
A short drive away is HM The King’s Sandringham Estate where you can explore the house, or walk in the parkland and woods with your dog.
