Company information

My name is Darren and I bought the Briers in April 2023 and since then, we are renovated the whole property (don't worry, no disruption to guests). At the time of writing, we have done up the reception, snug, corridors, dining rooms and we are working on our 3 bedroom self catering cottage. We have massive plans including a 6 hole putting green with outdoor bar and practice nets. We also have plans for luxurious outdoor cabins along with an outdoor pool, spa and hot tubs. Keep an eye out on our social media and website for more information. Myself and my staff will do all we can to make your stay the best we can. We look forward to meeting you.

Nestled in the heart of South Down, our 18th Century Country House provides an excellent base at the foot of the Mourne Mountains whilst still being within easy reach of Newcastle and the many activities it has to offer. Just a 30 minute walk from the town, and less than an hour from the cities of Belfast, Newry and Lisburn, the Briers is in an ideal location for walkers, wedding guests, golfers and sight-seers alike. For the more adventurous, we offer a fantastic location to begin to explore the varied terrain around the area, with plenty of outdoor centres to help you on your way, whilst the luxurious seaweed baths and nearby seaside spas offer a less strenuous way to recharge your batteries. Combined with breath-taking views, spacious and comfortable rooms and ever-friendly service, it'll feel like a home from home in no time! We are also perfectly situated for a round of golf at the world renowned Royal County Down. We can provide 6 seater taxis for your trip. From the moment that you arrive to the morning of departure you will be made to feel welcome at all times.
