Company information

The Bulls Head is all about old school done exceptionally well! Our passion is fresh, seasonal food using local ingredients in an informal and relaxed atmosphere, complemented with local ales and internationally awarded wines and spirits. From a post-walk pint in the sun trap of the pub’s frontage or perched in the bar gazing at the roaring fire, to relaxing in the oak-panelled dining room or horse brass decorated stable bar, with a meal fit for a king. In the early 18th Century Foolow was a thriving centre for lead mining, and its population and wealth boomed. More people arrived with the diversion of the Sheffield to Buxton turnpike road through Foolow in the late 18th Century, at which time the Bull’s Head was one of five pubs in the village. It’s now the last survivor. Foolow lies within the White Peak area of the Peak District, characterised by gently rolling hills and lush green pastures criss-crossed with limestone walls. There are beautiful walks in every direction from the village. Only a short drive or a peaceful stroll away lies the historic village of Eyam, famous for its inspiring tale of courage during the Plague of 1666, and the picturesque Ashford in-the-Water,
