The Chapel Guest House B andB has been under new ownership since February 2021 and is now managed by Richard and Tracy . All of our rooms are fresh clean and simple with brand new beds and mattresses and all mod cons provided. We look forward to welcoming guests, both new and old, to this beautiful part of Cornwall.

Property information

The Chapel Guest House B and B, formerly a Methodist Chapel was originally built in 1862 in the Hamlet of Carthew in St Austell Cornwall. This imposing building has been sympathetically converted to provide accommodation and retains many of the original features of the Chapel. There are large arched granite windows with coloured glass to the front, and glimpses of trusses and keystones are evident throughout the building. The Chapel offers luxury accommodation in 5 Guest rooms which have been simply yet tastefully decorated. All of our rooms are en-suite with toiletries and fresh towels and linen. Every room contains a flat screen television, hair dryer and tea and coffee facilities and WiFi. We provide free on site car parking one car per room (No Campervans or Pickup Tracks please) . We welcome business bookings but (No Commercial vehicles please). The Chapel Guest House B and B offers a comprehensive breakfast menu to suit all tastes. Breakfast seating times are 8:30 am and 09.00 am. If you have any special dietary requirements such as gluten or dairy free, or vegetarian, please let us know.. We have Outside seating areas with a bar.(Bar is open from 5pm-8pm June to September) Check In: from 4 pm latest check-in 8 pm. Check Out: by 10:00 am. The Chapel is nestled in a wooded valley in the hamlet of Carthew, just north of St Austell Many attractions are close by such the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and a wide choice of beaches are all within a short hop There are many local villages all worth a visit, including Mevagissey, Fowey and Charlestown The Sawles Arms is a small local Pub only 5 minutes walk from the Chapel, where you will given a warm Cornish welcome. We do not accept pets. Please note: Rooms 1, 2, ,5 have macerating toilets which emit a pump sound when used. There is no local bus service but there are local taxis services that you can book Please inform us of your time of arrival, at time of booking.

Neighbourhood information

The Chapel Guest House is located in a wooded valley just 2 miles north of the old market town of St Austell. We are situated on the edge of whats known locally as Clay Country, due to the historic clay mining industry which was prevalent in these parts. The pretty harbour towns of Mevagissy and Fowey are 6 and 8 miles away. Bodmin moor is only 10 miles. There are 3 or 4 beaches all of differing types between 4 and 8 miles away. We have a small local pub less than 5 mins walk away.
