Fancy living like a hobbit in Hobbiton on a hobbity hill? Or perhaps you’d like to feel like Gulliver in Lilliput for the time of a weekend? The Folly is as cosy as it gets. Sitting on the popular Gumstool Hill in the heart of the Cotswolds, The Folly (the cottage) is only a stone’s throw away from the centre of Tetbury. There are lovely walks just outside the cottage along the small river, and all the services are extremely close. PLEASE NOTE: The space saving paddle staircase is VERY steep, and leads to the upstairs bedroom. If you have mobility issues, then please DO NOT book this property.
Tetbury has won numerous awards, earning the accolade "Heart of England in Bloom" and "Best Small Town." It was founded as an ancient hill fort, and on the same site was later built a Saxon monastery in 681, most likely by Ine of Wessex. Today, Tetbury is known as a small hidden gem of an English town, praised for its charming cottages and ivy-clad buildings and cottages, abundance of flowers and greenery, history, wool, antique shops, and historic buildings.
