Company information

We've run the holiday cottages for over 15 years. You can also find them advertised on Sykes Cottages and also on littlepentrebarn, our site, and on both you can see lots of additional photographs of the place and read reviews.

Property information

Lovely quirky building. Magnificent views over rolling countryside. Heated swimming pool (June to August). See more details on our site littlepentrebarn where you can also book direct. The place is located on a small holding of about three acres with a stone circle, firepit, dragon's lair and a total of four small places for guests. There is a Barn, a Stable, a Gin Palace and a Shepherd's Hut. All can be booked either separately or in combination. There are mown pathways leading through the meadows and a magnificent mixture of wild flowers and grasses. There are barbecues for each property. The pool is on and heated for three months in the summer, June to August inclusive. Electricity is provided at a subsidised rate via coin meters. The property is located almost on the border between Wales and England, just 100 yards or so into Wales in a lovely rolling landscape of gentle low lying countryside. The pretty village of Overton on Dee is about a mile away and Ellesmere with its lovely mere and bustling village is four miles away. The wonderful aquaduct at Trevor is just one of the local attractions. Chester, Shrewsbury and Llangollen are all within 30 minutes by car.

Neighbourhood information

Lovely setting on the border between England and Wales, in rolling countryside. Nearby is the pretty village of Overton on Dee with its medieval church and famous yew trees. The small town of Ellesmere with its canals and mere is just four miles away and Oswestry, Llangollen, Chester and Shrewsbury are all nearby. Snowdon can be reached and climbed in a day, as many of our guests choose to find out. All the other attractions of North Wales and Shropshire and Cheshire are within easy reach. The immediate neighbourhood is very rural and littlepentrebarn is located on a quite backroad which has grass growing in the middle of the lane. The surrounding fields are mostly grazed by sheep or cattle or a set aside for crops. Houses are dotted along the lane - after littlepentrebarn, the next house is about a mile and a half away. For NT members, the fortresses at Chirk and Powis are within easy reach and Erddig is ten minutes away by car. Guests can walk and cycle straight from littlepentrebarn without the need to use any main roads. There are several public footpaths leading from the property and some wonderful country pubs nearby serving high quality fare.
