Experience luxury, comfort, and peace at The Granary, a beautifully converted barn offering three distinct private garden spaces. Whether you're looking to explore Norfolk or seeking a restful environment to focus on work, this retreat is designed for you.
The Granary might appear small but is deceptively spacious inside and is part of the stunning complex of buildings from late Georgian, early Victorian farm and small holding.
The Granary has a tasteful, eclectic mix of mid century and comfortable modern furniture. With an open plan layout yet discreet nooks for reading or working.
Main Bedroom
The bedroom features a king-sized wrought iron bedstead beneath the original barn beams. Side tables with lamps, a standing mirror and extra bedspreads are provided. A walk-in dressing room offers hanging rails, shelves, towels, iron and a hairdryer. The room is uncluttered and peaceful with well-placed sockets. Windows are the original barn openings with an added velux, giving light from both sides. Tall guests should mind the beams.
Bathroom
Clad in soft pink onyx tiles with brass fittings, the bathroom includes a walk-in shower with alcoves, a heated illuminated mirror and a large standalone bath under the beams. Switches for fan, lights and mirror are just outside the door.
Downstairs
The entrance hall stores coats, shoes and bags. Dining, living and kitchen spaces flow into one another. The dining room, in the oldest part of the barn, opens via glazed doors onto a private courtyard rose garden with the walled garden beyond. The living room has a large sofa, coffee table, Sony TV with Apple TV and a vintage hi-fi system with Bose 901 speakers. Albums can be borrowed on request.
The kitchen is well stocked with sharp knives, utensils and ample preparation space. Integrated appliances include fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The ceramic range has five elements, a warming plate and three ovens, suitable for large meals. A Nespresso machine with capsules and milk foamer is provided. Off the kitchen is a charming toilet.
A quiet wood-panelled reading room offers a 1950s lounge chair, marble desk and Olivetti Lettera 32 typewriter.
Outside
The front courtyard features yew and roses leading to a walled garden with lawn, topiary and morning sun. At the rear, seating and dining areas face west for afternoon light beside the modern extension. All gardens are private.
Our Russian Blue cats may appear. They are affectionate and inquisitive but normally kept outside to ensure the Granary remains pet free.
