I’m over the moon that you are here & always delighted to share what its like owning, running & staying at Geufron Farm in beautiful south of the Snowdonia National Park. And by me, I really mean us – Dean (my husband) & I, plus our two adventure pups, Bracken & Dottie! So, let me explain how Geufron Farm came to be… After well over 2 decades working in online financial services, the buzz of corporate life had finally worn thin for Dean and I. We knew we needed a new challenge. The idea for a place for those who love adventure & the outdoors to recharge from the stresses of everyday life was born on a day spent in the mountains. The search was on to find the perfect spot! In 2018 after much searching across Europe we stumbled upon Geufron Farm, in the south of the Snowdonia National Park. Despite its sorry state at the time, instantly it just felt right. We always knew we had A LOT of work to do to breathe new life into The Old Farmhouse & Barns. Little did we know driving towards Bryncrug on a dark evening in 2020 as the new owners that just a few weeks later the whole of the UK would go into lockdown & our dream of opening our 5 beautiful farm properties to guests would be halted. What a time to buy a hospitality business! We could have crumbled but instead, we upped the budget and ripped out & renovated even more than we had first planned. Think Escape to the Chateau ... but on a farm, in Wales. Our friends must have thought we were off our rocker, but we knew that this special place deserved a really special overhaul. The Granary may only sleep two but its big on relaxation. With sea views from the breakfast table, a large wall mounted flame effect fire to snuggle up in front of and your downstairs bedroom to retreat to you’re sure to have a special time. Sometimes referred to as the ‘upside down cottage' The Granary still retains many of its original features include low ceiling beams (6ft 1metre 83cm), lower than modern standards downstairs ceiling (6 feet 6 inches / 1 metre 98cm) and the old grain door through which the cattle in the neighbouring barn were fed each day. Pets welcome: With hillside walks right from the doorstep, dog friendly beaches & the local dog friendly pub just a 15 min walk away you can be sure that your best friend will have the holiday of a lifetime. Just a minutes walk from The Granary you will find our enclosed dog play field, perfect for morning walks, playing ball or just watching the world go by. Up to 2 house trained dogs are welcome to stay with you at The Little Cottage. A fee of 25 pounds per dog per stay is payable to the owner prior to your arrival. Parking for 1 cars: The property is in the main parking area next to the The Granary. All our holiday homes at Geufron Farm include: Well equipped kitchen: All our kitchens come with dishwasher and everything you need to rustle up a wonderful feast. Or if you prefer not to cook the local pub is just a 15 minute walk away across the fields. Smart TV, Amazon Alexa & Wifi: We know how important it is to stay connected while you are away so all our properties come with free WiFi. Smart TVs allow you to keep up to date with your favourite shows and Alexa is on hand to quickly find out the weather forecast or play your favourite holiday tunes. Geufron Farm is set on the southern fringe of the Snowdonia National Park, an Area or Outstanding Natural Beauty. In an enviable south facing position in the Fathew Valley the mountain & sea views are outstanding and there is plenty to do. The mountain ranges of Cadair Idris & the lower lying Tarrens are ready to explore, Talyllyn Steam Railway passes in the valley and and beautiful Cardigan Bay provides family & dog friendly beaches which are far quieter than those in the North of the Park. Our friendly local pub, The Peniarth Arms, is just a short walk away across the fields in the village of Bryncrug where you can also pick up the signposted walk along Afon Fathew (River Fathew) to the seafront.
