Rural Retreats was founded in 1985 with the aim of making the countryside more accessible for holidaymakers and giving them the best possible choice of holiday homes across the UK.
Rural Retreats’ continuing success is based on excellent local knowledge and painstaking research, together with a flair for finding delightful and unusual properties. All of this has enabled us to build a portfolio of over 450 exceptionally fine holiday homes in stunningly beautiful locations, all available for you to rent.

The 16th century New Inn, village shop, cafe and farm shop are four miles away in the picturesque "black and white" village of Pembridge.
The renowned Stagg Inn is a short drive and the gastronomic Elizabethan town of Ludlow 30 minutes. Hay-On-Wye, the "town of books" and home of the literary festival is also a scenic 30 minutes away.
There are numerous festivals throughout the year including the world famous literary Hay Festival, Ludlow Food Festival, Leominster Festival and Presteigne Music Festival.
The attractive welsh border town of Presteigne is within a short drive with its Judges Lodgings, impressive parish church and excellent eateries including Crocketts, Wild Thyme Italian and Daphne's takeaway pizza.
Play golf at Kington, England’s highest golf course with stunning views over mid Wales.
For fishing, why not buy a fishing passport, and make use of the online booking system run on a flexible, not-for-profit basis by the Wye & Usk Foundation.
Wander around the beautiful Berrington Hall, a fine house created by Henry Holland.
Explore Hampton Court gardens and maze or Croft Castle, home of the Croft family for nearly 1000 years with many stories to uncover.
There are a host of other lovely homes and gardens to visit such as Hergest Gardens, Ludlow Castle and Hereford Cathedral.
To try something new why not visit Monkland Cheese Dairy, a working dairy farm where you can learn and discover the methods of cheese production with an experience day.
Visit Dunkerton’s Cider Mill, makers of traditional organic Cider and Perry or the market town of Leominster with it’s many antique shops. Next door is the wonderful restaurant The Cider Barn, booking advisable.
