The Hideaway - recently awarded the honour of being one of the top 10 places to stay in Calderdale. A relaxing ADULTS ONLY bolt hole in the midst of a historical, rural village, set in the heart of a conservation area on the Pennines, centrally located for many walks with good pubs along the routes. Once at the top of the stone steps leading to the entrance to the property, you will be instantly immersed into the unique en-suite 'secret garden', offering sole use of a private space boasting beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The space - through the entrance to the property is a set of 4 steps leading up into the sleeping area with original wooden flooring, kingsize bed and en-suite shower room. Please note: Due to the nature of this conversion, the area on one side of the bed has a low-level roof truss which is 140cm. Despite this, the room remains spacious with head room restrictions to one side of the bed only. Private access to the room. Note: the owner of the house has 2 cats which are often seen hanging around the garden and may attempt to enter the property and we would prefer it if access was discouraged. Parking available on the driveway for 1 car only. Additional parking can be facilitated by request only. and in the designated area ***Under no circumstances must an inconvenience be caused to the neighbours by taking up valuable parking spaces elsewhere*** Access to The Hideaway is through the garden gate with a walk up 14 steep Yorkshire stone steps. Torches are essential for night time use. ***With parking being limited in the village we politely request that you make use of the driveway and don’t park on the road. Two cars can be accommodated on the drive with prior notice ***
Hello, my name is Tania - originally from London, relocated to 'God's Own Country' in 2014. I am a keen horse-rider and spend most of my spare time up on the tops riding with friends. In addition to the 2 cats - who will often be seen hanging around at the front to welcome your arrival - I also have a Beagle who may also be seen rubbing her nose on the window being nosey. I take pride in offering my guests a peaceful and very private experience in The Hideaway, so you will very rarely see me. However, I am always on hand to answer and queries you may have.
Set on the Pennine Way, 10 minutes to Sowerby train station, 20 minutes to Halifax. 40 minutes to Leeds or Manchester via the M62 or train.
