    Lovely stay here. Husband was fishing at Bewl reservoir and myself and the dog had a relaxing time. The dog loved the garden. Would definitely have like to stay again.

    The Lavendrye was a perfect getaway for a few nights. Cosy but with everything you need, and it was lovely to wake up and take a walk around the lake.

Hello and welcome! I’m thrilled that you are looking at one of our properties to rent. I am a professional landlord with other properties elsewhere to let via our business, Superlet Properties. I love finding old and interesting buildings and restoring them to have another life. I've done this for 40 years and been a landlord for the past 30 years. I love sharing my properties with other people so they can enjoy them as much as my family and I do. Every property we own as a family has been lived in and tried out by us to ensure that everything works, everything is comfortable and well maintained. I have travelled widely with my family, and have lived abroad for long periods of time, and so I understand the requirement for a “better than home” experience for guests. We pride ourselves on a very high level of cleanliness and comfort in our properties. We use professional cleaners and a laundry service as part of the team, and we regularly inspect everything to ensure it meets our high standards.

Property information

The Lavendrye is a ground floor annex to the Farmhouse (which can be booked separately and sleeps 8). The large sunny sitting room faces south east and looks out onto a large patio with the shared (with the Farmhouse) garden behind, which in turn overlooks the mill pond and the farm. There's a small kitchenette suitable for occasional or light meals, and a wet room, with heated towel rail and underfloor heating. The space has just been refurbished, with new blinds in the bedroom to make things more welcoming and cosy! There are always clean fresh towels and bedlinen supplied. The Lavendrye is perfect for up to 2 adults in a comfortable double bedroom, with the option to accommodate up to 2 children on the sofa bed. Alternatively, it makes a good stop over if you are working in the area, and need to accommodate two adults, one in the bedroom and one on the sofa bed. If you’d like to use the sofa bed—whether for little ones or simply for extra space—just let us know in advance, as there is an additional charge.

Neighbourhood information

Bartley Mill Farmhouse, where the Lavendrye is also located, is situated in a small hamlet, centred between three small villages, and about 8 minutes drive to the centre of Tunbridge Wells, yet in deep, quiet countryside. Because of our rural nature, the car is still the best way to get here. Alternatively, a bus service - 256- travels along the Bayham Abbey Road, the B2169, between Bells Yew Green, and Frant train station, towards Lamberhurst. Our closest train station 1.5 miles away is Frant, on a direct line from Charing Cross, Waterloo, London Bridge and Cannon Street in London. There are plenty of shops and pubs within a 3 mile radius, plus some great attractions such as golf, horse riding, tennis and day trips to the coast, heritage properties and gardens to add in to your stay. Tunbridge Wells is our closest large town and Wadhurst, Lamberhurst and Bells Yew Green are our closest villages with pubs and shops in each. We are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and situated on the edge of a farm with great walks and views. Bring your walking boots!
