Just about everything! The cottage had stunning views, very quiet and very well equipped. The host Joy was amazing, nothing was too much for her. She even arranged for a fan to be delivered to us because the weather was so hot despite being away...

We liked everything about the cottage. It was spotlessly clean, very well equipt and comfortable. Joy was really good at knowing what guests would like and it showed. We loved it.

The cottage was like home from home. It had everything required for a stay plus so many extras, that you would not necessarily expect in a holiday let. All furnishings were of a high quality. The beds were comfortable and bedding was again good...

The Linhay is a cosy Grade II listed house we have aimed to furnish sympathetically with a mix of refurbished antiques and new items, with original wall art and vintage posters. The cottage is in the historic Upper Town of Minehead, opposite a 15th century church and a minute from the picturesque cobbled paths and thatched cottages of Church Steps, a short walk from the seafront and town centre. Well-equipped, comfortably furnished, and with super views, it is a perfect base to explore the beautiful areas of Exmoor National Park, the Quantock Hills, and the Somerset and Devon coastline. The cottage's front door opens into a small porch, and then into the cosy sitting room where you can relax with the smart TV and woodburner on cold winter nights. Next is the dining room with seating for 4, leading to the new well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, electric oven, microwave, washing machine and good sized fridge-freezer. Beyond the kitchen is the shower room with shower, toilet, sink and cupboards and a heated towel rail. Up the narrow staircase are two bedrooms with double beds and cupboards: one large room at the front, and one smaller room with sloping ceiling overlooking the garden . (The stairs are narrow and steep, not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.) Outside is a small patio with garden furniture where you can enjoy the flower garden and views of Exmoor.
The Linhay is in such a peaceful location yet convenient for accessing the town centre. I love waking up to views across the town towards Exmoor, and relaxing in the south-facing garden. If you love walking as I do, you will find you are never far from a footpath. Walk up the hill to reach the coast path or downhill to the beach and harbour. We have made the Linhay as comfortable as possible and hope you will like it as much as we do!
The cottage is situated on the slopes of North Hill where there are breathtaking views across Minehead Bay. It is just a short walk downhill into Minehead town centre with its numerous shops, restaurants, pubs and boutiques, and the beautiful long sandy beach, which is excellent for swimming. Just a few miles away is the popular medieval village of Dunster with its impressive castle and Yarn Market, a frequent background in TV shows and movies. Spend a day on the West Somerset Steam Railway, stopping off to explore the fascinating harbour town of Watchet with its boutiques and pubs. For walkers, the South West Coast Path is just a short walk from the cottage with spectacular views across the Bristol Channel to Wales.
