A single story stone barn which is well over 100 years old. This used to be the old forge in the village which sits next to the old blacksmith cottage. These are both situated on a quiet road in the middle of the village with beautiful safe dog walking fields and river close by. Dogs are welcome in The Little Barn but please request your dogs booking with me at the time of booking your accommodation. I ask that your dog is not to be left alone in the accommodation unless in a crate or cage. In The Little Barn towels and bedding is provided at no extra cost. Although there is no garden, chairs and outside table along with a bbq is provided for the summer nights outside the front of the accommodation on the gravel driveway, which also has a gate for safe keeping with your dog. There is a small charge for your pet to stay on holiday. Parking for up to 2 cars is available on the driveway right outside the accommodation.
I will usually meet you at the property, as I live next door, to show you around and hand over the key. There is also a key safe if for any reason I am not available. Looking forward to meeting old and new guests this year. Here's hoping the weather is kind to you all for your stay.
Situated approx. 6 miles from Stamford, this is ideal for dog walking as although situated in the middle of the village just a few paces up the road you have open fields and river access ideal for your family friend. Burghley park and Grimsthorpe castle are just a few miles away with excellent parkland. Rutland water is another excellent area for walking, fishing or bird watching. If cycling is your sport, cycle path from Carlby to Stamford is very safe even for the younger family members. Although we have no pub in the village on summer evenings you can walk across the fields on the public footpath to the nearest pub about 15/20 minutes walk away. Take your pet with you as there are no roads to cross just safe farm land open fields. In the car there are plenty of pubs to visit with areas for your dog, offering great food and fantastic beers. Vineyard and distillery offering tours and tasting events just a stagger away in the next village just a 10/20 minute walk away.
