This house was not the average new build. It had character and lots of rooms so that you could have your space as well as big enough to accommodate all 9 of us in any one of the rooms.

What a beautiful house, with so much space. We thought it was so interestingly laid out and the kitchen in particular had fantastic facilities. It had everything we could possibly need with local shops very near by.

The Meeting House is one of those gorgeous places that makes you want to peek in through the window, the sort of place you dream of being able to live in. Well, now you can, for a brief moment at least. This elegant Georgian home is everything you could ask for that perfect holiday. It’s big enough to sleep 10 people in five lovely spacious bedrooms, with the Master Bedroom featuring a unique glass floor, covered by a rug. The Meeting House is aptly named because the house is very sociable. Beautifully decorated, with glorious, often quirky antiques, there are several reception rooms which mean you can spread out and do your own thing or simply entertain friends with space to spare. The house is perfect all year round. In the winter, grab a book, snuggle down and toast your toes by one of the wood-burning stoves and soak up the atmosphere of the historic rooms. In the summer, pour yourself a glass of something special and enjoy the sunshine in the stunning courtyard, complete with all the furniture you need to dine al fresco in style. The Meeting House won’t disappoint. You’ll fall in love with its charms and its situation – all the right ingredients for the perfect homestay.
Friendly, welcoming owner hosts living nearby. Meet and greets can be arranged on request. Just a call or text away for help and information
Ashburton is a vibrant market town and a perfect base for families and friends to explore the stunning Dartmoor National Park and the south Devon coast. There is no need to leave Ashburton except for the odd day trip to a sandy beach or to explore Dartmoor. Everything is on your doorstep from groceries (Ela’s artisan bakery; Dartmoor butchers; The Fish Deli; The Arc with organic foods. Entertain yourself at the Arts Centre in the evening after a lovely vegetarian & vegan supper in the foyer cooked by Rafiki’s restaurant. Or during the day take a picnic to the fabulous outdoor heated swimming pool and sunbathe on the generous lawns followed by a Creamo’s Craft ice cream just round the corner. In the summer St Lawrence’s chapel, a 600-year-old chantry is open to the public. Look out for the concerts and recitals which regularly take place. If you wish to relax and treat yourself have a beauty treatment; there are at least 3 beauty clinics & salons to choose from. Alternatively try out some yoga or take a picturesque walk in the local countryside.
