There is only 1 Bar in Dufftown and it’s basic but has a dart board but that’s your lot.now as others lost business to Covid. There’s an Indian which is average and take away which is basic. Advise to book places to eat in Aberlour to avoid disappointment. Whisky tours only accept online bookings.

The people were friendly.
The people were friendly. Unfortunately the tourist information office had been shut down. There were plenty of distilleries nearby if you had a car. There were good walking tracts if you had a medium level of fitness. There is only one pub as far as I know but I would recommend the restaurant as the food which was excellent.

Charming little town in the heart of whisky country!
Charming little town in the heart of whisky country! Glenfiddich Distillery with its excellent visitor facilities situated in the town and several other distilleries open to view in the locality. An interesting ruin, Balvenie Castle, to explore on the outskirts of the town. Dufftown also boasts its own heritage railway which is definitely worth a visit. Beautiful walks and lovely scenery around the town.

Only a few restaurants in and around town make sure you reserve ahead. If you plan on going to the distillery's or the Speyside cooperage also make sure you book ahead. Dufftown golf course is public and is nearby and will rent you decent clubs. Great course. ACE taxis if you had too much good Whisky.

We stayed for 8 nights during the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival and the location was pretty central for many of the events. Lots of lovely places to visit during the day in the surrounding area.
Loved the Dufftown Glassworks, a little coffeeshop come art gallery, and the Seven Stills restaurant was extremely good for a special meal.
There are only three places left in Dufftown serving hot food in the evening - even the local chippie has closed down. The only cafe, The Coffee Pot, opens at 9am (10am at the weekend), which was too late for us for breakfast, and closes at 3pm, so we didn't use it during our visit. Everything else has closed down and there are no signs of any other businesses moving in to take their place. The only other option for an evening meal is to go further afield, and the buses stop running very early evening, so you have to either drive or take a cab. We were there for the whisky festival, so driving was obviously out of the question, and the taxi cabs were totally booked up (because it was the whisky festival...). We were fortunate that we had cooking facilities at our accommodation and could make do.
Pretty disappointed with the public transport. I believe that they put on extra services in previous years for the festival, but not this year. Even one single late bus would have been useful - on the biggest week of the year for tourism the last bus leaving Elgin for Dufftown was 6.35pm!

The town is beautiful and clean, but we couldn’t find a restaurant which was open at around 14:30 on a Tuesday after we finished our whiskey tour. None of the nearby castles were open. I’d avoid being there on a Monday or Tuesday as most restaurants only open on Wednesdays.
The photos do not do this place justice! Everything about this place is phenomenal! I wish we had stayed longer as this was my favorite stay from our 2 week trip through Scotland. The bathtub was glorious - my husband even took a bath! the decor is absolutely stunning and eclectic and the host took time to share about select pieces and history. Also the salmon and egg breakfast was TO DIE FOR. I am still thinking about it, 3 weeks later. Also happy to have purchased an art print from the host.
The hosts at the Gables are two of the friendliest and welcoming you will find anywhere. The house is spotlessly clean, the bed extremely comfortable, the breakfast delicious and plentiful, and there is a whisky room with over 450 choices!!! Nestled in the countryside about 2 miles outside of Dufftown the scenery is amazing and the the location perfect for touring Speyside and the distilleries. Book your stay TODAY!
Nice spot in town center. Large room, well appointed. Proper glassware for a dram in the room is a nice touch. Co-Op right round the corner and a few lovely whisky shops. Easy walk to Glenfiddich and then the bus route also hits some great places like Highlander Inn and Fiddichside Inn. If you're adventurous take the 5 mile riverside walk from Craigellachie back to Dufftown, it was beautiful.
Everything at Inveravon Holiday Home was perfect for our stay and as expected from the pictures. Ann and Gary were very helpful and easy to communicate with, and the house was beautifully clean and spacious. The hot tub was also amazing, especially in the cold weather! Would recommend to anyone visiting Dufftown.
A great wee self catering unit ideal for a couple and a dog. Excellent accommodation, great outside space and located very conveniently for all facilities. Dufftown is a great location for touring a number of areas but plenty to do more locally as well. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
The location was excellent in terms of access to the area distilleries. Dufftown is a nice, quaint town. Very quiet. The Cottage was very nice, well decorated and clean. The bathroom was up to date and the kitchen was very well done and well stocked. The on-site laundry facilities were a great bonus!
We stayed one night at the Dunavegan. The place was very lovely and well equipped. Dufftown is very small and the B&B is located very central, everything can be easily reached within a short walk. The breakfast was fantastic and had a lot of different options to the standard full Scottish breakfast.
Clean hotel staff friendly but facilities not as you site advertised no evening meals and disruption due to painters and decorators working ? Health and safety may not be happy, had to step over painters equipment to get to our room, booking . Com not in touch
The property was in the centre of Dufftown, it was spotlessly clean and beautiful inside. Everything you need for your stay is provided, would stay there again 1000% and I definitely recommend if you’re looking for somewhere in the area.
Hotel, restaurant and hotel pub was a highlight of staying in Dufftown. Staff and locals were very friendly. Pretty much one of a handful of businesses open while I was there for one day & night.
Very nice place. The hosting couple are very welcoming people.
Very nice room, clean, homy and at last - there was a decent ventilator (fan) in the room - which is not obvious in Scotland.
It was incredible. Very close to Dufftown and in the middle of Speyside. Super accommodation, the hosts really very nice and accommodating and the whiskey selection is great.
Setting and location were great loads to see and do within an hour of the cottage with Dufftown on your door step.
Staff were very friendly when we saw them
