Over 2 floors, the Schoolhouse Annexe consists of a living room, modern kitchen, downstairs bathroom with shower and toilet, upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and a separate toilet. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, bedroom 2 has 2 singles and there is a double sofa bed in the living room as required. Full gas central heating for the winter months. The Old Schoolhouse was Scotlandwell's former village school and the Annexe was originally part of the school from the 1850's until the 1960's.
Peter and Izzy your host live in the Old Schoolhouse to which the holiday home is annexed. We will meet you and explain everything on your arrival. If there is anything you need or need to know in advance feel free to message us via the platform.
Located at the foot of Bishop Hill, part of the Lomond Hills Regional Park. The Old Schoolhouse was Scotlandwell's former village school and the Annexe was originally part of the school from the 1850's until the 1960's. The area is perfect for walking, with easy access local woodland, Loch Leven and Glen Vale Waterfall. If you are in to golf, you'll already know how close the village is to several local and famous courses. For wildlife enthusiasts the RSPB centre at Loch Leven is only a 10 minute drive and the coastal route, through the picturesque villages of East Neuk leading to St. Andrews is a perfect day out. The property is close to a village park with a childrens play area and the Well at Scotlandwell, with an abundance of free natural spring water, apparently with healing powers. Opposite, is The Well Country Inn, who can offer a continental breakfast, lunch and evening meal by arrangement. It's literally a 30 seconds walk. (Payment direct to the Well Country Inn) ...Alternatively Lochend Farm shop opens for cooked breakfast every day at 9am, a 2 minute drive. For the brave, the Scottish gliding centre is opposite the Farm shop, you'll need to book in advance. For the lovers of good food and crafts, try Loch Leven Larder on the way to Kinross, where you will find Loch Leven Brewery and a range of shops including a supermarket. 15 minutes off the M90, you will find Scotlandwell, a beautiful village, with Edinburgh, St. Andrews and Perth just 40/50 minute drives away, or go by train. Whether you're passing on the way north or locating your break in Kinross-shire you will be very welcome.
