    “As it says, this is the old Harbour Masters office and therefore had gorgeous views over the harbour. I only met the host once, but she had kindly left a bottle of wine, also fresh milk and tea bags etc. As it is a tower, it wouldn't be suitable...”

The Old Watchtower is a unique, Grade II Listed bijou property in an outstanding location tucked away in the heart of Alnmouth with superb views of the Aln Estuary from its first floor sitting room, originally the old Harbour Master's office. Note: This property does not accept short breaks.

Situated just 4 miles east of Alnwick, Alnmouth is a charming resort popular with golfers and those seeking a peaceful holiday. The village lies on a narrow spit of land between the River Aln and the North Sea and was originally the port for Alnwick. Nowadays the area has returned to its unspoilt origins and offers a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as an excellent “links” golf course and some great rivers for fishing, as well as boasting miles and miles of splendid beaches and sand dunes to explore which afford stunning views of the North Sea. A short drive will bring you to Alnwick with its famous historic castle, The Alnwick Garden housing the Poison Garden which runs guided tours through dangerous botanicals and a variety of pubs and restaurants. Alnmouth is well situated for exploring Northumberland.
