Idilic location with nearby peacocks often in earshot. Cosy place with central heating and a wood burner. Hosts quickly responsive to requests.

Absolutely loved the location. Peaceful and beautiful and loved all the trees and the gardens. Also loved the quirkiness of the cottage, the open view through it, the wood panelling in the bedroom, the sunny garden and of course the peacocks.

Beautiful and quirky little cottage in beautiful grounds. The perfect setting for settling our daughter into Falmouth University and was a lovely base while we did this and explored the surrounding area. Will definitely book again when we return...

Stunning woodland location in peaceful grounds and friendly peacocks (with chicks) that visited every day. Plenty of space, woodburning stove. Felt like a home.

Forgotten Houses
The Wodehouse, built 100 years ago for the gardens of a country house, has been renovated by an award-winning architectural and building team. It retains its historic features while meeting modern standards, resulting in a quirky and charming property. The garden setting is stunning. The slate-roofed hall, north bedroom, and bathroom, clad in timber trunks, feature a gothic door. The high hall has chestnut paneling and opens to the living room to the south, which is well-lit with high ceilings, slate floors, small-paned gothic windows, and a section of glass roof to ensure ample light and sunshine. Double doors open onto a south-facing terrace overlooking the gardens. The granite fireplace has a wood-burning stove with free wood provided. The kitchen, located at one end of the long room, includes an under-counter fridge, electric hob and oven, microwave, timber worktops, refurbished 1960s cabinets, and a very long table made of two planks. There are two wood-paneled bedrooms (each with wide timber floorboards), a washing machine/utility room (with a second fridge), and a large tiled shower room. This is an unusual cottage in a wonderful garden setting. It now has central heating, a TV, and Wi-Fi. Private parking is available. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead in the gardens due to the presence of peacocks. Sleeps 4. Terrace with garden views and a barbecue. Free private parking.

The Wodehouse is situated in the gardens of Bosvathick, an 18th-century country house that has been owned by the same family since 1760. The 10-acre garden features shrubs, lawns, trees, a lake, a sunken garden, a maze, orchards, and much more to explore. Originally a farming hamlet in the hilly farmland just inland from Falmouth, Bosvathick became the center of a traditional estate in 1760. It is still inhabited by descendants of the family who have lived there for 260 years, enjoying the gardens and surrounding farmland. Horse riding stables are located a couple of fields away, and the coast, Helford Estuary, and the Lizard are all within easy reach. The house is set in beautiful countryside, with a prize-winning pub and two excellent restaurants within a couple of miles. It is well placed for visiting beaches (including three at Falmouth) and the area’s various attractions, restaurants, and activities.
