Rural Retreats was founded in 1985 with the aim of making the countryside more accessible for holidaymakers and giving them the best possible choice of holiday homes across the UK.
Rural Retreats’ continuing success is based on excellent local knowledge and painstaking research, together with a flair for finding delightful and unusual properties. All of this has enabled us to build a portfolio of over 450 exceptionally fine holiday homes in stunningly beautiful locations, all available for you to rent.

This former potting shed has been refurbished to the highest standards, offering a spacious open plan living space, wood burning stove, hi-spec kitchen and large bedroom with luxurious en-suite bath made for two. Set in the historic Weston Park estate which offers 1,000 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland and within close proximity to the beautiful Shropshire countryside and Welsh borders.

Weston Park is situated on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border, ideally placed to explore the wider region including the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site (20 mins drive), the stunning county town and birthplace of Charles Darwin, Shrewsbury (30 mins drive) and great shopping experiences in the historic city of Chester (1 hours’ drive).
The fine medieval town of Ludlow (1 hours’ drive) is one of the gastro capitals of England with award winning Michelin restaurants, secluded gastro-pubs, a historic market square and famous castle ruins.
There are an abundance of walks within the Park where you often spot an array of wildlife. Slightly further afield and you can walk up The Wrekin – a well-known landmark in the area, or Cannock Chase, a huge area of parkland.
On the estate the delicious Granary Restaurant is located within Weston Park, open daily for breakfast and lunch, and for dinner on a Friday and Saturday evening.
The Rose Paterson Art Gallery is situated on the estate. Selling exhibitions by acclaimed artists from the UK and beyond, along with items on loan to the gallery from private collections.
