The Resting Shepherd is a tranquil escape in the heart of Angmering Village, nestled within a 100-foot-high Victorian walled garden. This charming, original flint Victorian outhouse has been carefully restored, offering a peaceful space to relax and recharge while blending modern comforts with rustic charm. The Resting Shepherd offers a serene retreat where modern amenities blend seamlessly with the soothing beauty of the outdoors, making it the perfect place to recharge and de-stress. Upon entering through a cottage-style stable door, you are welcomed into a light and airy double bedroom decorated in a soothing palette of creams whites, pale green and complemented by natural wood accents. Thoughtfully designed with space-saving solutions, the room feels both cosy and practical, ensuring a comfortable stay. Bi-fold doors open to a compact ensuite shower room, thoughtfully designed to include a full shower, a combined toilet and wash basin, a heated towel rail, and an LED mirror. This modern setup ensures that the space remains both practical and stylish, offering convenience without sacrificing comfort. The adjoining ‘culinary nook’ is equipped with custom-built units, oak wood effect countertops, full size fridge, and sink. Although there is no oven or hob, a microwave, toaster, and kettle offer everything you need for continental breakfasts light meals & snacks. A stable-style window in the kitchen allows fresh air and natural light to pour in, enhancing the room’s rustic charm. Outside, guests can relax on a raised decking area overlooking a beautifully maintained garden, where the peaceful atmosphere creates the perfect backdrop for relaxation. Whether you choose to soak up the tranquillity with a book or enjoy light meals or a mezze al fresco surrounded by nature, the setting enhances the sense of calm and serenity.
I’m so glad to have you here. Creating a warm, peaceful space where guests can unwind, reflect, and feel truly at home is something I genuinely love. Whether you're here to relax, explore, or simply enjoy some quiet time, I hope your stay brings you exactly what you need. Only a 4-minute stroll from the historic village square, this location offers the perfect opportunity to embrace its enchanting charm. Explore the village and uncover treasures like an artisan bakery, a cosy café, the local village store, a beauty salon, a traditional butcher, a barber shop – all nestled against the scenic backdrop of St. Margaret’s Church. Dining options are abundant, with something to suit every taste. Relish the classic fish & chips, savour flavourful dishes from the Indian takeaway, or enjoy the offerings of the local pizzeria and bar. For a casual drink, visit Pete's Den the micro bar, or for a more traditional pub experience, unwind at The Lamb or The Spotted Cow, two of the village’s most beloved pubs.
