Breathe in, slow down, and reset in nature. The Retreat at Little Oaks is an eco-wellness hideaway in Blaenavon, a UNESCO World Heritage town on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. Our calm double bedroom overlooks the patio which gives direct access to a wellness area designed for unhurried days: a heated outdoor pool treated with UV/non-chlorine, a 6 person sauna and an invigorating ice bath, plus a cabana and loungers. Under a heated gazebo you’ll find our bar/coffee shop showcasing award-winning Welsh wines, spirits and beers with local artisan produce. On site, a qualified practitioner offers mat-work & equipment Pilates (fully equipped studio), craniosacral therapy, structural integration, sports & oncology massage and scar-work therapy (by appointment). We champion Buy Local, Sustainability and low-impact practices, including solar-supported energy. LGBTQ+ owned and inclusive, welcoming everyone.
Come as you are; leave restored. We’re Andy & Mark, your hosts at The Retreat at Little Oaks. Mark is a movement and manual therapy practitioner offering mat-work & equipment Pilates in our fully equipped studio, Upledger CranioSacral Therapy, Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (Board Certified), and scar-work therapy, alongside sports & oncology massage. He’s also a Body Control Pilates Master Teacher and supervising teacher teaching other Pilates Instructors to better themselves and their teaching, and helps teach on Body Control's Hypermobility Course for Pilates Instructors. Andy curates the guest experience, our Buy Local sourcing, and the heated-gazebo bar/coffee shop featuring award-winning Welsh wines, spirits & beers and artisan produce. We love helping guests find an easy rhythm: sauna → ice bath → swim → stretch, or Pilates before a sunset dip. Expect clear communication, spotless spaces, thoughtful touches and insider tips for trails, viewpoints and heritage sites. LGBTQ+ owned and inclusive, welcoming everyone.
World-heritage wonder on your doorstep. Blaenavon’s Industrial Landscape is recognised by UNESCO for its remarkably complete story of early industry. Think Big Pit National Coal Museum, the dramatic Blaenavon Ironworks, and the World Heritage Centre, plus the heritage railway. (you can often hear the toots from the steam engine's whistle and see plumes of steam from the engines from our patio). When you’re ready for fresh air, head to Keeper’s Pond (Pen-ffordd-goch) for big-sky sunsets and paths over The Blorenge into the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog). Abergavenny’s markets and independent food scene are a short drive away, and cafés, traditional pubs and local producers dot the hills. We’re happy to share easy day plans; history in the morning, wild vistas in the afternoon, and a calm swim back at the Retreat.
