The property was lovely, it was very clean and the hosts were brilliant. Couldn’t fault it. Perfect for what we needed as travelling with an 8 week old baby. Lovely setting/location.

The retreat is a beautiful hidden gem. Spotlessly clean and tidy, with full kitchen and plenty of space. The hosts were warm and welcoming, their dog is gorgeous, and the hot tub was an added bonus.

Kitchen, bathroom and living space were lovely for 2 days/solo person. Wi-fi was robust. Hot tub was a pleasure. It was close to where I needed to be. The late(ish) check out helped.

The Retreat is new stand alone conversion offering accomodation for four people across two floors. It is modern, light, spacious & with a double bedroom upstairs and a double sofa bed in the lounge. Local hacking/riding available. A quiet & restful escape close to Ashdown Forest, a short walk to good local pubs & 30 minutes to Brighton and the sea. Winnie the Poo Bridge, Sheffield Park, Wakehurst Place, & The Bluebell Railway are on the doorstep.
Decided to give people a restful break by converting part of her East Sussex home. We will meet you on arrival and hand on keys and quick show round then leave you in peace. However one of us is usually around (Philip will be writing somewhere nearby) if you need anything at all. Welcome pack of fresh bits and pieces will be waiting for you including complimentary drinks and nibbles.
The whole area is very Sussex - welcoming and peaceful. We have the typical English village of nice Church and are lucky in having two excellent country pubs with quality menu's, gardens and service. Many National trust properties locally plus the sea and sand of the channel coast less than 45 minutes away. Forest Row is a welcoming and sought after small town and of course Brighton and Gatwick are on the doorstep. Very little traffic anywhere nearby. Ashdown Forest (500 yards away) provides lots of walks as well as Poo Bridge and woodlands. The local riding stables offer hacking and riding. There are local buses and taxi firms that service Chelwood Gate. Local fishing available at Frogmore Fisheries which are one mile away and many more in the area.
