The Viewpoint is an exclusive Beach House located in Greencastle,Kilkeel, Co. Down. With panoramic views of the Irish Sea, the Cooley and Mourne Mountains, it has all to offer a visitor. With a secluded beach, lovely walks, and availability to fishing, walking, photography, Art, Cycling and peace with tranquility - it is perfect. A truly beautiful retreat.. It has a wood burning stove, as well a Central Heating which will ensure a pleasant stay even in the wintry nights. Lovely to see the sea pounding along the shore, and the winds howling, and sitting with a nice warm drink. This is a newly renovated house, and as such it is in immaculate order, and has been certified by the Northern Tourist Board, with Public Liability Insurance. The property itself boasts 2 Double bedrooms all ensuite with towels and shower gels provided, a fully equiped Kitchen with all facilities to allow cooking in-house, a wood burning stove, televisions in every room, fast wifi, and a beautiful top floor offering luxurious seating and unparalleled views. A delight at night to sit and watch the world go by.
I have just renovated the premises to a very high quality, and intend to keep it to this standard. I live adjacent to the property, and can be on hand to advise and assist as required. Otherwise I give you the keys and you are on your own!! To date I've enjoyed meeting people and helping them in any way I can. I look forward to greeting you should you decide to join me.
With the Carlingford Ferry that takes you to Greenore, there are an innumeral number of sights, pubs and restaurant close by. Kilkeel the nearest fishing port offers a range of eating establishments, sit-in or carry out with fresh fish to buy from the local shops. There are a range of golf clubs within the area including the world reknowned Newcastle Royal County Down, used by many professionals coming in from around the world to play. If you like walking the Mourne and Cooley Mountains are supberb. Situated 45mins from Belfast, 1hr from Dublin, the Viewpoint is an excellent hub to travel both North and South of Ireland..The Titanic quarter and Game of Thrones areas are within easy travelling distance as well as the Guinness Storehouse, Trinity Hall and many other treats in Dublin. There is a historical motte adajacent to the premises which is protected, and has part of the history of the area., as well as a Castle, part of the history of the area. The area also has had tragedy on the sea outside with the collision between the Connemara and Retriever ships that cost many lives. There is a plaque commemorating this loss. It is a quiet seaside retreat with Kilkeel being 5mile away. A mainly farming community, with fishing creels, and catching lobster and crab providing an income to the local fishermen. There is the opportunity to hire a boat to go fishing for Cod, Mackeral etc., whatever you may be lucky to catch. There are farm shops offering local honey, potatoes and free range eggs!!
