We have 3 children. Mark is a fitness fanatic and Jane loves walking the fells with Molly their Tibetan Terrier.

Property information

Thornbank Guest House is owned and run by Jane and Mark Hibbitt. We moved from Derby in 2002 - to escape the rat race - and have been at Thornbank since then. We pride ourselves on the personal service we offer all our guests and are very grateful for all the fabulous reviews we get. A very warm welcome is assured at Thornbank House. The Health Club is now fully open and there is no need to book ahead. It is 2 miles away.

Neighbourhood information

10 minutes walk to a wide variety of lovely shops and restaurants. 15 minutes walk to Lake Windermere. Local bus service runs between Windermere /Bowness/ Ambleside /Grasmere / Keswick. Taxi from the station to Thornbank House takes less than 5 minutes. Free parking on site and on Thornbarrow Rd outside Thornbank House. Local walks taking up to 2 hours allow spectacular views of the Lake District Fells and the Lake from Thornbank House. This is a very low crime area - it is very safe.
