Company information
Living so remote can be exciting and challenging, Guests will drink the water pumped up from a well over 100 foot deep as the water makes its way to the River, all fully maintained and safe but, no additives, just a beautiful flavour. The Building is 175 years old, it does creak a bit, it is made from solid granite with no blocks the same size, to cut a door through the granite to make a door took the builder a week and the loss of a lot of equipment.
The air is very pure & the skies clear, there is very little light pollution. It is possible at times to see the Aurora Borealis, and on extremely clear nights the Milky Way can be seen by the naked eye in the sky.
Celebrities have stayed with us, we provided accommodation for 3 weeks for all the drivers & staff working on the film 'Stardust'. We have Blue Plaques on the outside to provide additional interest & information for guests.
There is a car park at the front of the main building for guests staying in Stag View. Owl View has a dedicated parking space & Woodlands Rest & Tonita guests can park directly outside the properties.
Guests can ring or email the host, Rita or Amanda - who is on site

This Bungalow Cottage, Tonita, sits on a site that was a hunting lodge that was built by the laird who lived in Strathpeffer in 1850. The current owners purchased the property in 2004 since when it has retained much of its original charm, the two cottages were guest accommodation..
The property shares the extensive rear grounds of next door that goes down to the River Black Water, there is free fishing but very little salmon, Scottish Fisheries catch the Salmon as they jump up Rogie Falls, however, Brown Trout is frequently caught in the River.
Some of the smallest birds in the UK can be seen in the grounds, with a good selection of Raptors, Stags, Pine Martens, Badgers.
There are beautiful views of the mountains and hills, the property sits within a 'basin' and is surrounded by mountains, & can be seen all the way to Ullapool, great for guests who are both social walkers & more serious Munro baggers.
