Property information
Situated at the edge of the quiet Lake District village of Brigsteer, Willow Tree Barn is a dog-friendly, modern, high-spec barn conversion with a welcoming, home-from-home feel with lots of natural wood, comfortable furnishings and a large log burner for those chillier nights. There's masses of daylight thanks to the large windows and open plan ground floor layout. The property is a self-contained part of the larger barn conversion, and you have total privacy in this peaceful corner of the Lake District with the sounds of nature and the fresh Lakeland air.
With a modern spacious kitchen/dining area, lounge seating (open plan), two good size bedrooms (one Kingsize en suite, one double) and a very good bathroom, this is a great property for one or two couples, or a small family, plus the family dog is welcome too.
The local area has lots do see and do and is an easy drive to most of the Lake District's attractions, and only 15 minutes from the M6. You may have to come more than once to experience all the attractions!
Neighbourhood information
Brigsteer and the Lyth Valley:
Nestled at the edge of the Lyth Valley, Brigsteer is a traditional Lakeland village of grey limestone cottages and is complete with an excellent pub, The Wheatsheaf. Beautiful, peaceful countryside is all around with lots of walking routes, including the favourite Scout Scar walk, which can be done straight from the door of Willow Tree Barn. Scout Scar is a superb high plateau reached via woodland and has far-reaching 360 degree views towards the Lake District mountains and Morecambe Bay. Longer routes can be done and turned into a circular route without needing to use your car. Outdoor activities including water sports on Windermere, mountain biking, and multi-activity days at Holmescales Farm
There are three stately homes just a few miles away - Sizergh Castle, which is a National Trust property near Kendal, from where you can also start good walking routes on public footpaths. Levens Hall is world-famous for its amazing topiary and has a very well regarded cafe too. Holker Hall and Gardens is another magnificent property to visit and (perhaps with a little planning) could be your future wedding venue.
