Brancaster is famed for its vast, breath-taking sandy beach. The expanse stretches for miles, backed by gentle sand dunes and the famous links golf course of The Royal West Norfolk Golf Club. Turn left as you reach the beach, and walk to the estuary to discover the seal colony that basks on the creek edges. Paddle in the tidal lagoons or walk for miles along the beach to the shipwreck of the SS Vina. The beach is perfect for sunbathing and picnics compiled of delicacies from Brancaster Stores. Kite surfers provide exciting entertainment on windy days.
A walk along the Norfolk coast path brings you to Brancaster Staithe which bustles with sailing fraternity at high tide while sailing craft and boats cram onto the hard. Home to Brancaster Staithe Sailing Club, you can also elect to book a boat trip with Branta Cruises and enjoy a day out at National Trust owned Scolt Head Island. This island is one of Norfolk's best kept secrets - don't miss out. In high season, fresh seafood and coffee can be bought from the shed on the hard.
