Grade 2 listed Witherhill Granary was formerly part of Witherhill Farm built in the early 16th century, a characterful property with lots of original period features, original oak beams, and fireplaces. Set in 4 acres to include extensive terraces and gardens for use by guests, their children and four legged family members also! The guest annex is separate to the hosts living areas, to include superior King and Double rooms, Guest Television room with TV which has a sofa bed providing additional sleeping ideal for children or 2 small adults, Games Console, board games and DVD's, A Double Shower room, and finally antique Victorian Bathroom with marble floor. The bath in which is very deep and lovely for soaking away any aches after hill walking, surfing or just a chilled relax! Tastefully decorated throughout in keeping with the period of the property, the bedrooms have superior beds and bedding guaranteed for a good nights sleep, aided by the quiet countryside location. The family have dogs, horses and cats at home so ideal for animal lovers looking for a quiet retreat, while also being walking distance of 2 country pubs in High Bickington ideal for an evening stroll.
The Hosts Dave and Kay moved into the property in summer 2019, they spent time turning the annex into luxury guest accommodation and enjoy sharing their delightful period property with visitors. They are keen animal lovers and enjoy spending time with their horses and dogs at home in their fields and garden. They also enjoy visiting the beautiful North Devon coast, and have numerous body boards that guests are welcome to borrow to take to any of the numerous beaches just a short drive away.
The property is close to the North Devon coast and also the Moors of Exmoor. There is a vast amount to see and do locally near by, with plenty to keep children entertained. The grounds have an idyllic terraced area to relax in in the evenings with many guests enjoying the warmth of the outdoor fire pit should the evenings be cool. Dogs are welcomed, the grounds and gardens are secure and vast for an evening stroll, with 2 Village pubs also being within walking distance.
